Introducing Hock+Hoof’s General Manager, Sunny Lam.
Born and raised in Oakland, California, Sunny Lam attended the University of California, Davis where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Technoculture. Lam was classically-trained in San Francisco as a craft bartender and spent most of his hospitality career bartending at multiple locations throughout the South Bay. After three years of building a reputation as a creative, devilishly quick, and stylish bartender, Lam made the jump into management in 2017 and accepted a position as a Food and Beverage Manager. After a successful year in the role, Lam is now moving into his next role as the General Manager/Beverage Director for Downtown LA’s new and exciting restaurant: Hock & Hoof.
Lam is not just experienced in hospitality but has also led many different lives. He comes from a foodie background and has always been intent on seeking out authentic, tasty foods across different cultures. Lam has a taste for adventure, culture, media, music, and travel. At the age of twenty-six, he flew around the entire world and has since then visited numerous countries. Bartending and cocktails are not his only passions, however. Lam is also passionate about photography, cinematography, and outdoor adventures, such as exploring nature, kayaking, and wilderness survival.
